My dream consists of classic albums, more Grammys than I can carry, crossing over into other genres and mediums, and giving back to to people in the low income neighborhood I grew up in as well as all over the world. The latter being much greater than the other goals. I want "paying it forward" to be a part of my brand. I LOVE music, hip hop is my sweet spot, in the words of Jay Z, "I'm Already Home". . . I am right where I'm supposed to be and that is following my dream, using my GOD given talents to let my light shine and inspire others to do the same. I can't tell you how much music has gotten me through, or made a day brighter, or made something more enjoyable. I don't even know if I could work out without music, I doubt I'd have the same stamina:) This is my life, I'm growing as a person and an artist everyday. I am blessed to have the opportunities I have, and to have been shown the love I've been shown. It's amazing to have "fans" of my music, I make this for me, these are my stories, every last one of my songs is from some part of my life, to know that other people can relate and enjoy that fulfills that basic human need of belonging. . .the love is incredible. Who is Opal Ellyse? A bi-racial kid from Madison, Wisconsin who escaped poverty with education and determination, who is finally free of all bondage of any kind by the simple act of declaring my dream and following it. God is all there is, let's live like it:)
